Web Messenger (MSN) Kapandı
Uzun zamandır paralı olacağı söylenen MSN 30 Haziran tarihinde kapandı. Böylelikle Web aracılığı ile hizmet veren Web Messenger servisi tarihe karışmış oldu.

Microsoft, web tabanlı messenger sunucusunu 30 Haziran Salı günü durduracağını açıkladı ve kapattı. Servis kullanıcılara, en çok tercih edilen anlık mesajlaşma ağına web üzerinden erişmeleri için 5 yıldır hizmet vermekteydi.

Yeni servise Hotmail posta hesabınız üzerinden doğrudan bağlanabileceksiniz. Böylece çevrimiçi olan kişileri kolayca görüntüleyebilecek ve iletişim kurabileceksiniz. Eğer Live ID hesabınız Hotmail‘e değil de başka bir Domain’e bağlıysa, yani Windows Live Messenger’a Hotmail dışında farklı bir domain ile bağlanıyorsanız, http://people.live.com adresine girerek web tabanlı servisi kullanmanız gerekiyor.
Ayrıca Microsoft 30 Haziran 2009 tarihinde; Microsoft Money, Microsoft Encarta ve Windows Live OneCare hizmetlerini de sonlandırdı.
